The Babysitting Course with Infant and Child CPR is designed to educate our youths to make good decisions and help build their confidence in their skills and ability to be a successful Babysitter while learning skills such as: A non breathing child, choking- conscious and unconscious, anaphylactic, seizures, cuts, scrapes, falls, nose bleeds, how to use an Epi-pen…and more.
Sibling Care: This course also covers the important step when a child starts to babysit or help look after a younger sibling, to help out mom and dad. We teach the kids how to get along with their sibling, how to keep them safe, and how to use these new skills. Having an older child babysit a younger sibling saves on daycare costs for parents, teaches the kids about responsibility and working together.
In the Babysitting Course, students will learn these skills in a hands-on learning environment that best promotes and enhances their own individual learning styles. We teach them what to do if they miss the bus, if they come home and can’t find their key to the house, or maybe it is just to have them babysit their younger sibling for a few hours.
The Babysitting Course also includes a component of the Red Cross Youth Communication and Conflict Resolution and Cyberbullying for the kids they babysit as well as Sibling Care.
The course is $60.00+hst per participant.
