Lil Tykes Stranger Awareness Safety course • Grades 3-6
Parents struggle with many things when it comes to the safety and security of their children. That is where our program excels, at giving kids the confidence and skills to learn know to keep themselves safe.
Our goal is to help kids learn how to stay calm, recognize threats and how to respond safely and properly when an emergency happens in our interactive, fun, and hands-on learning workshop, with their workbooks as a guide throughout the program. We all know that the school age years bring a lot of changes for kids, perhaps new friends, new adventures, and a wonder of the world we life in, but we as parents know that the real world can present unsettling challenges. It is our job to keep our kids safe, but we are not with them 24 hours a day, so it’s important to educate them how to be safe.
As parents we have been teaching our children for decades to never talk to Strangers… but what about “Known Hazards” to kids, which are people they trust that can be a danger to them? What if they need help from a ‘Stranger” … who would be a “Safe Stranger”?
The Internet can be a wonderful place to learn, shop, play games, and talk to your friends. Unfortunately, there are also predators, identity thieves, and others online who may try to harm kids. In order to be safe online, it’s important for our kids to be aware of the dangers.
Many kids are confident that they know how to be safe online. However, there are a few reasons kids are often more at risk. They may not always think about the consequences of their actions, which can cause them to share too much information about themselves. Kids also are sometimes specifically targeted by cyberbullies or predators.
