S.W.A.T- Safety While Accessing Technology

Our S.W.A.T- Safety While Accessing Technology Courses are being offered Virtually through our Instructor-Led Zoom Courses... Ages 7 and up

Safety Training Plus is excited to announce our new VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED S.W.A.T course…. Safety While Accessing Technology course. Kids and technology go hand in hand. Computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, how many of these devices do you have in your home? This is a scary time for everyone, especially kids… we have to ensure that they don’t let their guard down and keep themselves safe.

As a parent, you want to shield your child from digital dangers and watch what they’re doing. Using technology has become a necessity for many people today, and children are usually more than eager to play on phones, tablets, or gaming platforms.
The Internet can be a wonderful place to learn, shop, play games, and talk to your friends. Unfortunately, there are also predators, identity thieves, and others online who may try to harm kids. In order to be safe online, it’s important for our kids to be aware of the dangers.
Many kids are confident that they know how to be safe online. However, there are a few reasons kids are often more at risk. They may not always think about the consequences of their actions, which can cause them to share too much information about themselves. Kids also are sometimes specifically targeted by cyberbullies or predators.
Our S.W.A.T course will teach kids:
* How to be safe online
* Recognize dangers
* There are three “K’s” to computer safety:
~ Keeping the devices safe
~ Keeping data safe
~ Keeping people safe
* Cyberbullying- It is real and it is happening to kids
* Protecting Kids Identities
* Teaching Kids to treat the internet seriously
* How to shut a cyberbully down
* How to talk to adults about being uncomfortable on the internet
* And more

You will need a device such as a smart phone, iPad/tablet or desktop/laptop that supports Zoom Meeting Technology (with audio/video capability and high-speed internet). There is no fee to use the Zoom Meeting service. You will simply need to download Zoom ahead of time.
