In the evolving landscape of workplace safety, continuing your education is crucial. For those who have completed the Certification Level 1 program, the next step is JHSC Certification Part 2 – Distance Learning.

This course is specifically designed to empower Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) members with the advanced knowledge and tools needed to tackle industry-specific hazards effectively.

Course Overview

The JHSC Certification Part 2 – Distance Learning course spans two days and is conducted entirely online via Zoom, allowing participants to engage in:

• Detailed Hazard Assessments: Learn how to identify and evaluate potential risks in your workplace.
• Control Strategies: Develop the skills to control or eliminate workplace hazards effectively.
• Interactive Sessions: Engage with trainers and peers in real-time to enhance learning outcomes.

 Pre-requisites and Certification Requirements

Before enrolling in the JHSC Certification Part 2 – Distance Learning, candidates must:

• Complete JHSC Part 1: Ensure that you have completed Part 1 within the last 12 months to be eligible for Part 2. If more than 12 months have passed, a re-attendance of Part 1 is necessary.

Is a comprehensive one-day program delivered via Zoom or as an in-class option, this format ensures that every participant can engage in learning without the need to travel, making it a perfect solution for busy professionals. Here’s what the course includes:

• Workplace Hazard Assessment: Learn the latest techniques for identifying and assessing potential hazards in your workplace.
• Hazard-Specific Training: Receive training tailored to the specific hazards identified, focusing on control and elimination strategies.

Pre-requisites for Enrollment

To enroll in the JHSC Refresher Training – Distance or in-class Learning program, participants must hold a valid JHSC Part 1 & 2 Certification. This prerequisite ensures that all attendees have foundational knowledge and skills, maximizing the effectiveness of the refresher course.

Maintaining Your Certification

It is crucial for JHSC members to undertake the JHSC Refresher Training – Distance Learning every three years.

Failure to complete this training can lead to the revocation of your certification by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO), necessitating the retake of both initial JHSC Certification courses.
